Thomas Keightley's 1850 Fairy Mythology, volume II of two: England, the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Wales, Brittany, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, the Finns and the Jews, with the Conclusion and the Appendix. It is the half of the book in which Keightley handles material he helped to make, and admits in print that some of the most admired traits of the Irish fairies were invented by their collectors. With a head-note and a criticism for every section, a Register of Evidence and Inference, a glossary, a register of the beings, a who's-who, a motif concordance, and a plain account of what has been established since 1850.
