Meditations
The George Long translation of 1862, newly typeset
Twelve books of private notes, written in Greek by a Roman emperor who never meant them to be read. This edition uses George Long's 1862 translation — the version through which most English readers have met the text — set from Project Gutenberg's transcription of it (ebook #15877) and typeset fresh at 148 pages across 487 numbered sections. The Gutenberg apparatus, licence text and headers are stripped entirely; what remains is the translation and Valice Press's own front matter, which states the source and the translator rather than leaving a reader to guess which Meditations they have bought.
