A hundred puzzles built out of CODEX MYTHOLOGICA and CODEX BESTIARIUM — and you need neither of them. Every fact a puzzle rests on is printed with the puzzle: the names, the classes, the dates, the whole candidate list. Nothing here is a quiz. Fourteen ciphers over lines quoted from the myths themselves, ten logic grids and twelve deductions, ten word fits and ten searches whose leftover letters spell a sentence, eight orderings, eight classifications, eight tallies and eight pictures drawn out of their own numbers. Three hints for every one of them, printed in three separate passes so that looking up the first does not show you the third. Every answer given, and beside each one the line that says how it was checked — because every puzzle in this book was solved by a program that saw only the printed page, and had to reach one answer and no other. Where a puzzle had two, the puzzle was rebuilt.
